Making windows in quark

I have a couple of silly questions. Basically not really sure how this works.

1. would you make a seperate poly for a window or can you insert windows into alrdy pre-existing polies? Example, I alrdy have a wall but i want to make a huge glass window. so do I redo the wall and make a poly window or can I just place the window into the wall?

2. When building walls do you need to use the box tool or can using wall tool that comes built in? I started with the wall poly and I have zero errors at this time.

3. If I don't wish to use a door and instead wish to have the team shoot through the glass door. is that collision mesh I use and how to make bustable glass...LoL...

I think that covers it for now.

I pretty sure for your Number 1 Question.

That you...

Make the wall you want.
Place another box representing the window wherever you want on the wall.
Then choose to subtract the window from the wall.
And QuArk will remove that piece and leave a nice opening for you.

For Number 2
Im not sure - I use 3dsmax/GLB3/QuArk until Constructor is released.

For Number 3
I did a search there are a few threads on Breaking Glass. But the most
important one was http://www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=8600

Sorry for the incomplete answers.

I have the fist book from him. It's good but outdated. His formats are intersting but in the newer engine a ton of features never function properly. His newer book is awesome and built off the 1.3 engine and covers a vast majority of AI he still leaves a ton of stuff secret. That's what I don't really like. For a new person (like me) it's function adds more questions than answers.

I can attest that Ken Finneys breaking glass from the first book still works. :)
So do several other things. Mounting a vehicle isn't one of them tho.
