interior tutorials

I've just started out making interiors (I've made T2 maps for quite a while, but never my own interiors so far) and I've been looking for tutorials to no avail.

is there an explanation of the various entities, for example? what *exactly* does the portal do and how do you best use it? why are my light_omni entities not working?

a small guide on the entities and how to use them would be great.

lights only work in portals.

Portals work like this. They define trhe inside from the outside, allow light rendering inside, and cut down lag (if you can not see a portal, then everything in that portal is not rendered by the negine, cutting lag.)

There is a doc that comes with the Torque source that says all this, maybe its on the website somewhere...
