Importing a NPC animation sequence ??

by Matthew Wallace · in Artist Corner · 05/17/2006 (8:40 pm) · 2 replies

I'm having a problem on how to export a character moving boxes around in a scene, about 300 frames. The character is not going to be controlled by the player. It's just for show.

Where do I begin?? How do I export a 300 frame animation, that would start when my scene starts? and loop itself.
I'm using a skeleton for my rig. How should my character be setup? Do I need a cam, mount nodes??

If anyone ask this question in other posts, please link me.

thanks

If you don't have any AI or paths setup, here's one way of doing it:
What you can do is create your 300 frame long animation using the grid as a way to measure where your character is going. Name your sequence node "ambient"and export it. Now when you import into the game, it should start running automatically (if not, yell at your programmer and tell him to start your ambient animation). Then grab your little dts dude and place him where you want him.
