unique game idea

Actually maybe not all that unique :P

a arcade type game...cross of Robotron, Smash TV and Pengo...basicly the plot revolves around the player haveing to save the humans liveing abord some space station from some evil robots...been there, done that, right?

Well here is the twist (you knew there would be one, didn't you)...the player has no weapons...repeating...the player has no weapons...none at all!...well...erm...maybe one weapon (if it could be called that)...the player runs around with a big electro magnet...press one button and anything metalic is pulled tword the player...press another button and everything metalic is pushed away...the radius and strength of this magnetic pull/push field will increase with the length of time the player holds the button down (note this magnetic field only effects things containing metal...that laser that just fired your way won't be effected :P...but with some practice you could use the magnetic ability to pull/push the robots into the path of these incomeing laser shots)

Additionaly this magnatic field can be transfered to various metalic structures in the game (being chased down a hall by some robots...press against a metalic wall tile/texture...while pressing either pull/push and this section of the wall becomes magnatized for a short time)

the humans:
generaly the humans have two modes..."panic" and "calm"...a paniced human just runs around randomly, runs right into bullets, robots, ect...once the player touches a paniced human they become calm...a calm human generaly closely follows the player around (when a bullet/laser is near they will automaticly duck...but won't move until the coast is clear) if a robot touches a calm human they become paniced again...players must lead the calm humans to a teleportation device in order to save them (a paniced human can't use these)...also certain robots (just like the "brains" in Robotron can change a touched human into some sort of robotic beast, etc..)

of course there is more (I have lots of ideas for possible uses of the players magnetic ability)..there are bosses and such...but I'm just throwing this up here to see what the intrest is in developing such a "different" game

Thanks for reading this far :)

This sounds pretty original to me. It could be a really fun game. I like the magnet idea and the interactions of the humans/robots/bullets. This game could also have very wide appeal to players.

If I wasn't committed to other projects I'd seriously consider working on a game like this. Hope you get a good response from other developers.
