Well, actually you should paste the lines above the ones you pasted here, because there it are the actual errors.

The build solution as stated in presented forum thread is for VC2005 which was the current version when I did this

anyone deviating from the posted INSTRUCTIONS
is bound to post meanless I got errors posts
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Do not alter steps in any way

::Before beginning make sure you have either::

Microsoft Visual Studio 8 (Commercial) or
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (FREE)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

FOLLOW the directions PLEASE

I am currently not working with TGE at all
the way GG took my .zip and held me off with
the Lighting Pack merge as they secretly created VERSION 1.5
something my merge would have messed up the release of

and then after buying TGE RTS just to fix the build solution for my oldest
son to use as Engine for Bachelors final project
and Buying the Lighting pack

and compiling a build solution for RTS that actually works

and hosting the files for over 1 year (at my expense thru bandwidth)

they actually expect me to PAY MORE FOR TGE 1.5

NOT GONNA HAPPEN

I have long since removed the files necessary to create this version

Garage Games expected to pay for version 1.5 TGE after buying non compatible TGE and RTS
and compiling them to a full ver 1.4 solution
and HOSTED the changes at my own expense for them.

I also sent full package zip's to Synapse and GG and they made ver 1.5 in 82 days after this build

hmm wonder where they got the idea?

I sat down and listed all the steps necessary to Make RTS work by using a Browser and RTS
David Rosen created Dreamlords using browser and RTS
my post was dated May 2006 he announced first stage testing in OCT 2006

and to top it off every change they have made to the game has made it worse

I have long since stopped looking at Torque
the only reason I did all this work was for my son to complete his 4 year degree with a Torque RTS
project
when I bought the two products and founfd they didn't work and the HELP requests for a solution
went back as far as 18 months
I sat down and did it in 19 days

and I hadn't used C++ in over 15 years at that point my last C+ compiler was
42 floppies from Microsoft in a huge box full of books
also used Borland C+ developer kit but hated the nomenclature variations

so basically I got a free compiler VC2005 now use VC 2008
and installed a few things listed above

searched the forums found some of the problems and solved all but the selection ring problem myself

someone at GG merged code to make them work
but I have since really changed that code and my version is by
far superior to anything found here

I have built a lot of bases for games in past 2 years ( multi client shared data bases)
our MULTI game system is nearing launch as Davox Products and Entertainment

and not one game use TORQUE Products

the fact that I wasn't given a free upgrade to 1.5 to complete the RTS modifications
is something GG will have to consider as their loss.

I bought TGE and RTS in April 2006 and published this BUILD solution in MAY 2006
19 days after initial download never having seen THIS 3D engine source before.

I then posted project to make a game using Web browser and RTS to have
social management and Combat capabilities.
Of all the posts I have made on GG forums that is the only one to disappear
and it went bye bye right after alpha announcement by David Rosen and Lockpick
brought out a so incomplete project Dreamlords ver 1 Alpha
that it wasn't until 5th or 6 th era of testing that the game even played like a game.

He hurried to get to testing claiming to me when asked
did you read my post in RTS forums??
"he replied Great Minds think alike "

Funny that what gates said on preinternet CIS when he stole the work of
Randy 16 bit TOS Atari ST
Mike ICD hardrive runtimes and DOS system called SpartaDOS
Kieth Ledbetter batch file protocols for x modem y modem and early version of what is now RAR
John Demar on custom eprom codes for faster interupt processing
MY antic and gui codes including the first ever pop up combat windows
debut in Alternate Reality the Dungeon literally
identical code to my CIS publish showing how to run 4k machine language code
as externally launched command for a BBS menu

I rewrote BBCS for ANTIC magazine after its author Scott Brause failed in 14 attempts to deliver a working product to market

Published on CIS pre internet and developed several games

when I mailed my proto type of the 2400 baud modem to a VP at Hayes Modem Corporation
named Jack Supra he quit Hayes as VP started his own company
and mailed me a modem with serial number 3 handwritten on bottom

I had said in letter "all I want is a retail version of this so I can host a 2400 baud BBS"
at the time my Atari Hotel BBCS was the world's first HOME BBS with 8 phone lines
and 32 quad density floppies and 16 10 meg RLL hard drives

Jack took that to mean he could have the IDEA for 1 modem.

the computer industry has one flaw .. people think information is for sale
I have spent a lifetime giving it away
and my information is worth more than theirs

mine is original and is always above average.

so I say goodbye to my monies I spent to buy something I will never use

Panda 3D FOR FREE from Disney is far superior to anything GG offers

sorry if they don't like my opinion
but I am allowed to have one correct?

Interesting rant. Not the most organized, but an interesting read.

Hi William,

I'm not familiar with what happened regarding your work on the RTS kit updates, but I can clear up your question over the RTS and Lighting Kit merge resource.

Ever since the RTS kit launched we (Synapse Gaming) wanted to provide some type of quick integration path for the RTS kit and the Lighting Kit - in fact our first attempt was made using version 1.0 of the RTS kit shortly after its launch.

At the time there was no way to flag a resource on the GG site as requiring a product, so anyone could download the resource and see both the RTS and TLK code - unfortunately we had to shelve the resource until later. :/

Afterwards product-dependency was added to the site, but only restricting resources to a *single* product, meaning it could either be a TLK or RTS resource, but not *both* - which didn't really help much.

I know it's frustrating, we've had to scrap several resources and at least one product for similar reasons, but it is what it is.

Regarding your other comment; I'm not sure what "idea" you feel TGE 1.5 has involving your RTS kit resource, 1.5 doesn't contain the RTS kit at all. But try to keep in mind the business side of TLK's integration into Torque (negotiations, planning, scheduling, ...) alone took nearly a year, and that doesn't include development time.
