RTS/ TGE ver 1.4 build solution

I followed the docs 2x tonite complete build
It WORKS
post away flame me whatever I did it
and many thanks to Pat Wilson and special thanks to Matt Fairfax
and posts by Stephen Zepp Employee kept me focused on the end goal

I just bought the RTS kit so I'm relieved to see this thread!

I have just sent a new request to GG after buying the TLK i discovered the 1.4 version of TLK
comes fully functional with TGE you just unzip/extract the TLK and get fully working install
however the build solution does not incl VS2005 or VC8 so the files includes dont always
conform to the compiler version making a VS2005/VC8 merge a bit more work

however my point is if TLK can be made available as a single .zip install
why can my Beta 1 version of RTS also be made a single .zip install with
no compiling or install of other resources ie:TGE?

hopefully after my email tody I will get an answer
it would only take a few mins to set up a path incl
.zip file where root can be modified and tree remain intact
with EVERYthing needed to click and run

Ok final preparations before starting the docs and links for a TLK merge solution

asked both posters of alt solutions VC7 and MAC
to provide those solutions to a final submission
single file install of the complete project
so that owners of RTS will get same single file
install as TLK owners do

after that is completed the TLK solution will go up next

just curious where I put a RTS/TLK doc file??
cant put in RTS because you dont positively have TLK
and same is true of TLK might not own have rights to RTS

this is the major delay to posting current status coding and file links
where does it go?

Update to new solution submission
VC7 is coming in a day or two
Xcode is recieved with 3 warnings in solution

also have recieved info that we may have a RTS Beta 1.4 tool avail from TLK for instant merge

Ok this post by John is all i needed to proceed
I will be sending the file RTS_Starter_Kit-1-4_Beta1.zip
thru yousendit to John for him to produce
*fingers crossed* a merge tool/file soultion to TLK

no I have had no replies from GG again after emailing them
but as I have said before this thread seems to have made a positive
change for RTS owners that felt a need for this
however I still see in public areas people hesitant to get RTS waiting on OFFICIAL
access not a compiler build solution

today I got a strange request
seems a software project that is under way under Flash
has decided that a TGE/RTS solution using my version build
will be more promising
at first glance I would have to say Monopoly/sim city type merge/clone
Im sure once i see more this first impression will change
both my son and I have been asked to join/lead the team into the
transistion to a TGE project .. Im really hoping son takes the lead
I have things I want to finish here prior to Christmas

good news for GG looks like some more indie purchases coming :)

This update to my previous post about TLK 1.4/RTS:
'Quick' patch from TLK 1.4 to RTS Kit with TLK 1.4 support is avaible at
http://multima.inf/gg/TLK14_for_RTSKit.exe
use login gg pass shanur


Instructions:
- buy RTS Kit and TLK -:)
- get synapseGaming_lightingPack-1.4.0.zip from your downloads section

(to be sure you can check it's filesize which must be 51500862 bytes and md5sum which must be 3c511107f11d2d04735d77db46602886)
- unpack it
- choose SynapseGaming\ContentPacks\LightingPack directory when asked for directory to update
- open VS2005\Torque SDK.sln
- report any problems you encounter
Known problems:
- Visual Studio 2005 Project Files only
- NOT tested with Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition

I am awaiting jkabus to complete a Synapse merge of TLK with my beta build
I expect we shall it as soon as the TLK 1.4.2 becomes avail

right now im in alpha with dreamlords a TSE RTS project
and it looks very promising

Where to get the:

It is not available to download from download section. I have only

synapseGaming_lightingPack-1.4.0.zip
and
synapseGaming_lightingPack-1.3.5.zip
there.

The current lighting pack 1.4 does not address the special conditions
of the RTS and compilation of RTS build 1.4 in this thread (mainly the entire terrain folder)

it does however work nicely with TGE 1.4

I don't see a link to the file RTS_Starter_Kit-1-4_Beta1.zip anywhere.

Where do I get it from?

Instead of getting the other files and installing them, and recompiling, I can just get the one file and overwrite everything, and its done. Correct?

The links to the other files no longer work.

I expect to see a TGE RTS TLK very soon seeing as we were told Oct 4th as tenative date.

As to the files not working .. if you can the pixs you download the files
same directory same server..
oh btw i just hit 24.945 mb/sec and 128 m/sec upload
next modification should hit 50 meg
my server will be online soon

several RTS games will be released prior to next year when version 1.5 makes it out
