Need a haircut :)

Greetings all.
okay, I have tried doing a search or 7 over the past few days but this is eluding me, and I am starting to suspect it is not an easy thing for me to do (Am no artist).
I am using the excellent characters by evi from Cubix Studio which are awesome.
I have been playing with 1st Person POV in my game, and whilst I have the animations working and everything looking good, I do have a problem in that the characters I am using have hair :) By that I mean that the hair is imprinted over the top of the screen like a funky gui image. (I have firstpersonrender set to true so I can see the melee animations of the weapons and the arms holding other more violent weapon types).
Is there a simple way (not modifying the model which is beyond me) to either move the camera forward a bit with an offset (which may get me past the hair) or making that part of the model not show?
As it stands, I love the arm movements and weapon anims in melee, but that hair is driving me nuts and I don't want bald characters, and I am starting to suspect that the only cure here is to move the eye node forward a bit to get past the hair. :)
Regards to all.

Yeah... just move the eyenode. I don't think there's any offset code for the first person view by default (though you could add it).
