Anyone tried it yet ? the touch screen and portability of UMPCs really is another opportunity for indie developers / casual games developers.

Its not portable xp ( probably reffering to windows cs ? ) . It runs on Windows xp tablet pc edition 2005 , eventually windows vista. The first batch all seem to use integrated 3d acceleration with shared memory. 512 megs of ddr2 ram and intel M900mhz seemed decent to run simple games . The casual game developer usually makes sure their games run on systems with specs way lower. It is ment to become a portable gaming system among other things. Maybe not on the first batch ? well have to wait until someones try it i guess.Problems running TGB on notebooks ? i dont have a touch screen but it runs totally fine on my notebook.

Problem is XP tablet edition which has its own drivers and behavior. regular XP drivers are not compatible for example.
I know that many games already now have serious problems with xp tablet edition so I would assume that UMPCs will have the same or even worse problems with stuff that NEEDS 3d acceleration.
UMPCs were mentioned to have some type of Vista kickof ... but as Vista has been pushed back jan 07, thats a no go as the first UMPCs will be launched in a few weeks.
