how do i remove the terrain and sky

Alternatively you can open up the mission .mis file and remove the Terrain block data.edit: For the sky too :-)

i going to do a space map , i could do it so when you fall off it you die (by using lava with no texture) but i think i do a respawn instead, i always like them space maps :)

heh quit laffing at me ;)i did try that for the terrain, but 7am for me is like very late at night for most, after checking my mis file i found a second //-------beigin write object

why instead of lava you don't make a box that trigger layer's death?lava is slowest even without textures.

If you fall off and there's nothing down there, the player falls indefinately I think. You'd need to stick some kind of trigger down there.
