I'm lookin gto purchase (or build) a new pc that will primarily be for TGE.
Any suggestions as to where you'd put the extras?
What's really important to have bags of (hard space / RAM etc)?
And what can i skimp on?
Any help's greatly appreciated!
Thanks

It'd be the 3D, rts probably. Im a bit of a noob so a bit vague myself.
I just dont want my pc to become a cripple, limping along.
so you reckonn at least 2gig memory?
what about dual processors? worth it?

Good point - just saying 'torque' is a bit vague. It'd be the 3D, rts probably. Im a bit of a noob so a bit vague myself.

Maybe you're referring to TSE?

I'm wondering... Why is this even a consideration nowadays? The Torque engine will run on pretty much every hardware. 3GB of RAM for a 5-year old graphics renderer? I'm not smacking TGE, I love it to no end, but the whole idea is that it will run on the most amount of hardware with pretty good graphics.Maybe you're referring to TSE?

you can cut corners on the floppy.
and as well you can cheap out on the case.
you can settle for any old keyboard.
Seriously tho, depends on what you want from it.
just saying "its for torque"
is not really enough.
torque can target just about any hardware combo. (providing you buy at least the minimum)
I would buy a nice mobo, medium processor. and a decent card.
you can get into the 7800 series for like $100+-
memory is nice.
I run 3 gigs, but that is battlefield's fault :)
(try playing that sucker with only a gig, you can only play a couple missions before its lags from swapping)
