Editing mission area's

Newbie question. I've created various maps by using DEM's. Problem is these things are freaking huge. You can edit the mission area, but the players can still go as far as they like. First question about the mission area, what is the green box and what is the red box. Also, is there a way other than adding invisible collision boxes to keep the players from advancing or can you edit the area's size?
Sorry about asking what is probably such a simple question but I couldn't find anything in the tutorials about this.
Thanks ahead of time.

Make a wall all around. dont put textures on it. Or if you doing city, put buildings, fences, etc. around your mission area. Easiest i can think of

First thing is, the map is being tiled. That is, it's being repeated in all directions ad-nauseum.
To get a sense of how big the zone *really* is, go to your World Editor and select the terrain and look for the Tile option at the bottom of the Misc section. Click on this option to disable it. The terrain will now have "an end to it". Although, you will not be able to edit your terrain while this is disabled. So if you need to edit your landscape, turn on tiling while working on it, then turn it off when you are finished.
As far as the boxes go, I don't know the answer to that. (I'm very new to TGE myself).
