OK, my first level, named Hodge Podge, is ready to be played. If you would like it, you know the drill.

Hodge Podge -

Fun Factor - Perfect 10
Creative reuse of MBG parts - Perfect 10
Challenge - Perfect 10
Thought Factor - Perfect 10
Overall Score - Perfect 10

General Comments:
Hodge Podge presents the player to a huge map that challenges the player to find 40 gems. Bobby, the creator, asks the player to turn left at the first intersection. When you don't, he blames you for cheating and you get stuck in an OutOfBound trigger. This large map requires the player to use his super jump skills and to try and get both time travels. With no qualify time, but with an easy gold time of 2:45.00 minutes, this original and creative level is a must play for everybody. This level does have 2 problem: If jumping with speed, the player can overcome the Out of Bound trigger (the scale is 1?) and with luck, just see the Help trigger without getting out of bounds. The second problem is that with speed you can land on the Gyrocopter and easily make it to the other side. Other than that, Hodge Podge is really great!

Personal Comment:
Wow! I really liked the level (InBound and OutBound triggers! I feel special for helping with them *blushes*) and I managed to finish it in 2:13.79 (perhaps have gold time bit more difficult and adjust it to 2:30.00? I found it easy, but for players who are 'less' better than me, I think it's great!).
I don't think I found any parts challanging and I discovered 2 quick tricks (mentioned in General Comments).
The idea was good but there are many shortcuts ;) Lots of gems and the use of MBG parts was well made (the level elevator surprised me! I've never seen anybody using it before in such a way!) Few levels remain in my custom levels folder. These levels will be played over and over for a very very long time. This level is one of them.

Other Comments:
Your level building skills are very good for beginners, I'm sure you'll do great in the future!
I am looking forward to the next levels you will be creating! When you're done with a level, send it in already, so I won't have to re-post my e-mail :).

Many Kudos to Bobby for such a great level :) *claps*

I just finished the level in 1:54.86 minutes :)

I do wonder from where did you get some ideas from :| Gem Travel Advance has something awfully similiar to this level.

I've never played Gem Travel advance, Matan, so I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Also, the comment about hopping while using the gyro is a redundancy built in for less skilled marblers like myself. Similarly, you don't need to use all the super jumps to hop to the top of the tower; that is also a redundancy.

By the way, did you notice the HelpTrigger I put that says "Ow!" when you smack into the side of the tower after using the gyrocopter?

And 1:54.86?! I can't even beat my own gold time! (My best so far is only 3:45-ish; I keep tripping up BADLY on the super jumps.)

I fixed the size of that Out Of Bounds trigger so that even if you jump while going straight, I'll still call you a cheater and knock you out. I also made a couple other minor fixes.

I'm glad that you love the level so much!

10 out of 10 for everything!
Your level is amazingly fun. Yet want to know how to make it funner? go here www.garagegames.com/marbleblast/levels.php and download the rubics cube skybox near the bottom of the page. Then, go to the package contents>marbles>data>skies and replace the files, except don't delete enviro_map.jpg or sky_day.dml. I suggest saving the files your replacing, in case you want the old sky back. Now, go to my site, www.freewebs.com/marbleblastballs and download the Rainbow Glass. Follow the instructions on the website for changing the marble. Now, when you start up Hodge Podge, it looks amazingly cool!

Bobby, I noticed every single text message after posting my review. I smacked to the tower with the Gyro (of course, I can even get to the top of the tower with the Gyro), but really noticed the "Ow!" comment when I (again, too good :)) managed to (hold your chair :p) jump from the part where the Gyro is to the next part (the grey elevator level) and straight into the wall. Now I can get the first time travel at ~13.8 (my best being 13.63, but I was going too fast), hop to the third part and then straight up to the end. I also got my own fun tricks and skills that really put my time down.

"And 1:54.86?! I can't even beat my own gold time! (My best so far is only 3:45-ish; I keep tripping up BADLY on the super jumps.)"

I'm going for sub 1:45 minutes! I know I can do it! (I did 1:44.88 but missed a gem) For the super jumps, just press jump and then activate it. If you also roll your marble while doing it, you get to where you want really fast.

"I've never played Gem Travel advance, Matan, so I'm sure it's just a coincidence."
Most likely, because the fact that you had a message (I found it after the review) that said if I found 22 gems, it was an alarm for me since it sounded like me :).

"I fixed the size of that Out Of Bounds trigger so that even if you jump while going straight, I'll still call you a cheater and knock you out. I also made a couple other minor fixes."

I suggest also making the text messages bigger, since some of them cannot be noticed ("Ow!" and the 22 gems part) if you go fast enough and above them. Scale it times 3, just to be safe!

BTW - What are the fixes?

PS - I really like this kind of level. It's easy and straight-forward! It's quite professionally made too :)

Thanks for the suggestions on the text messages; I fixed them AFTER I sent you the revision. Some other fixes I made include a couple changed messages in other text triggers, and I fixed the gems on the last platform so that they weren't "stuck" in the platform.

And you can get to the top of the tower with the gyrocopter? Good for you. I'm moving a gem down to the base of the grey platform so's you can't use that shortcut, ha ha.

If you want to download them, I have put the level and .png file in a ZIP archive, available here: http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/cactusbob2k2/marble/hodgepodge.zip (hopefully this link works; let me know if it doesn't)

Hehe, I don't use the Gyro since it wastes more time than I thought it would. I now just need to JUMP there (Gyrocopter? who needs that?!) like I always do :)

Woohoo! 1:43.944 minutes!

Also, I'm waiting for the even more updated version of this level :)

Also, the text messages at the start (to speed or not to speed, and the gyro thingy, needs to be scaled higher (Z=3?) so I can see them. Usually I don't (I jump over them). Good job with the triggers :)

Http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/cactusbob2k2/marble/hodgepodge.zip should be a ZIP of the most updated version.

Also, I put the gyro there for those of us who can't make the jump without it; again, I meant for there to be a redundancy or two so beginners can do it one way, and advanced users another way.

Well, I finally beat my gold time (barely)... 2:38.10 is the best I've done so far.

This is an excellent level and earns my approval for one the most fun custom levels put out in awhile. It's a long level, but never becomes boring. And although it doesn't use custom interiors, the reuse is creative and original making it an interesting ride. Recommended.

Bobby, are you using windows? I can send u a recording of getting sub-2 minutes :)

No, Matan, I have a Mac, but I believe that I moved a gem after you got sub-2 minutes (there is now one at the base of the superjump tower), and I can't imagine you beating 2 minutes now. The latest version is available at http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/cactusbob2k2/marble/hodgepodge.zip (hopefully that link works).
