How to update Torque game engine to Torque shade engine?

I started using Torque game engine a month ago, but I realized it is not special good at 3d part, I wonder if I can update my Torque game engine to Torque shade engine? is TSE a totally different system from TGE? or it is just updated version of TGE? I'v spend a month on studying TGE, I want to change to TSE, but I hope my this month is not wasting time and have to start from zero on TSE.
