What do I use to edit a maya png?
there's a file called chatHudBorderArray under ftp.starter/client/ui/, it represents the border of the chatHud, how do I modify it?

Png is an image format which is nice because it's 1) lossless and more importantly 2) supports an alpha layer.

edit it with your favorite image editing app.
i still swear by PaintShopPro,
but i'm sure Gimp can get the job done for free.

An alpha layer lets you set the level of transparency.
