If you go the 3D route you will need to use one of the supported 3D programs that can export to DTS. This means 3DS Max, Lightwave, or Milkshape. If you have the money it is recommended that you use Max or Lightwave, if you cannot afford to spend a couple of thousand dollars at your "animation studio" then you should go with Milkshape.

Once you have decided on a application you will need to know how to use it. This means that you will likely need to spend at least 2 months (more if you know nothing about 3D) reading the software's manuals and trying the tutorials that ship with the program. Do not underestimate how important that it is to learn not only about your software but 3D in general, if you fail to get a good foundation under you, you will be severely annoyed as you try to produce art assets.

After you have learnt your 3D application, read Joe Maruschak's DTS Exporter document that is here on GG to understand how to export to a DTS file.

Thanks logan I have for the last couple of months been using a program called martin hash: animation master witch is a patch oriented 3d modeling and animation program so i have a fair idea of that particular program from what i understand though is that max and lightwave use polygons rather than patches but still what i would really like to know is and maybe you could help me out on this is there any programs that you know that act as like a compiler so we could make a crappy game without haveing to do any progrmaming cause we are just right know trying to get some understanding of how creating a game works before we go pay big bucks to get an engine like the one they advertising on gg but thanks again for your input i really appreciate it
