Of course I'm not George Broussard. When you see an actor on TV impersonating George W. Bush do you think he really is George W. Bush? I'm not Dan Partelly either. I'm someone who has kept his mouth shut and played nice. But I got tired of the constant waiting and delays. I also got tired of seeing other people ripped to shreds on the forums by the fanboys and zealots. In some cases simply for asking for an approximate release date or the current status of the engine. Out of frustration I finally snapped and vented in the form of the rant I posted. I shouldn't have done that. By posting that rant I reduced myself to the same level as the flaming fanboys and zealots. So I'll just say that GarageGames current business practices and the current state of TSE do not fit my needs for my current project, and I'll leave it at that. I have removed the offending post and requested that the moderator delete this thread. I will simply leave now. I sincerely wish you all (even the fanboys and zealots) the best of luck in your current and future projects.

It's illegal to anonymously offend someone on the Internet in the US, you know. you could get a hefty fine and six months jail.

Mincetro,

Please post a reference to this "law" because "offend someone" is very vague and broad. I would like more detail on that. Also it also seems to be against freedom of speech.

On a side note, if this was referenced to Tom Spilman he is hardly anonymous.

Edit - Spelling/Grammer.

I'll just post this real fast for Dan. Anton actually commented about this law a few months ago when it was announced. January I think. I can't find the actual legal definition of it but here a link to one of the news articles about it.

pda.physorg.com/lofi-news-law-said-site_9877.html

Here's an excerpt from it:

Quote:
Last Thursday President Bush signed into law the Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005. Included in the law is a clause that outlaws anonymously using the Internet "with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass."

I don't know how much they'd really push the law. Its a strange one indeed.

Dan:

You're welcome. I don't think of any it applies here except to maybe the first person that started this thread and apparantly just registered to do it. I have no idea who it was so I'm not making any assumptions.

I've actually been reading this thread and it's quite funny but a bunch of bs at the same time. I just wanted to post that law that way you could see Micentro was right, albeit as strange as it seems, that such a law would exist.

Thats a pretty funny law. If they actually enforced that just think of all the people who would be charged.

Maybe Bush got flamed on a forum so decided to make up a new law. :\

The only thing I see in bill is regarding "cyber stalking" posting anonymously "with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass." would not necessarily fall into stalking.

Of course I am not a lawyer so take that with a grain a salt.

Legislative branch votes on the Bill; the President signs it into law. The President doesn't ~make~ laws.

The Bill was sponsored by one Republican and co-sponsored by ten Democrats and nine Republicans.

And it appears to apply the same laws that work with telephones or being in person.

But hey, it sure sounds better to blame Bush!
