GID j 8th / 9th April 2006, Theme: Extreme Forces

Greetings!

Sorry it's been a bit quiet on the GID front lately. It's been rather hectic around here lately and I've been trying to hold off the next GID til the site update was done. Unfortunately, finding time to get the GID site rewritten has been harder then I thought it would be. As with GID18*, time has ticked by far to quickly and people are starting to get withdrawl symptoms so its time for GID j** ...

So, join us in #gameinaday on irc.maxgaming.net on the 8th and 9th of April 2006 for GID j, the theme being Extreme Forces.

* - GID17 was cancelled because we didn't have Constructor.
** - Game in a Day got bored of plain old decimal and has now switched to a base 62 numbering scheme.

@Tom,
is there any chance of adding friday the 7th to the GID dates, since I will not be able to find 24 hours between saturday morning to sunday night?(we have only 1 weekend day in israel)

If you want to GID early thats fine. Officially it's always the saturday and sunday, but some people do e.g. friday / saturday instead time permitting.

How about doing it late? I was thinking sunday & monday. Although I might be able to start late on saturday night.

My main objection to late entries in the past has been getting the site updated becomes a pain in the arse and late entries get forgotten about if I dont know about it in advance. However, since I'm not going to be updating the site til the new one is ready, it probably doesnt make a lot of difference when you send the entry in.

So does that mean Constructor will be available for this GID? :)

Nope. It would be bad form to cancel another GID because of a lack of c'tor, though, so you'll just have to wait until the GID that C'tor will be available for for it to be available.

Which will that be? Who knows ;-) Well, I know, but I'd have to kill you if I told you ;-)

Bah, I thought they said the other day it would be used at the next GID - that's why I asked

Please don't kill me :)

It could have been said that way. This one is actually a "get it out of the way so that there isnt two gids too close together" gid so that the timing of the C'tor GID isnt going to kill the regular GIDers. The actual date is not final yet so there's a reasonably large window to work with hence this one was organised to be as soon as reasonably possible after GG asked me about the C'tor GID.

Well, I was originally planning to use this weekend for memorizing the numbers between 10,000 to 100,000. I burned through the thousands pretty fast last week, but there are more numbers this time. Depending on how that goes, though, I still might join in.
