Small idea

Hi everybody!
How about a platform similar to valves steam, but for freeware games or betas. I think it's quite handy to have a program where you can download several games and also play with one account and have a buddylist etc.
Was just a quick idea... what do you think about it? Is there already something out like this? Would it even make sense? ^^
Sincerely,
Chris

Good point, but my server doesn't have a bandwidth limit so I coud pay for the start sure^^ as for later... well I think if it would really grow there would be some sponsors or you could financiate it with advertisement?

Steam is based off the Bittorrent protocol, with major adaptations.

I'm willing to bet that if your hosting service has a break-away clause if you are suddenly taking up huge amounts of bandwidth. Plus, most have throttling enabled. Especially ones that have "unlimited" bandwidth.

Vapour looks like a cool little service.

As for my bandwidth limit it's not having throttling enabled and there is no break-away clause... I'm paying enough.
