Best books for TGB?

I have a few c++ books, but nothing game specific. Is there any good books out there on game design & programming that would be relevant for TGB? I saw there was a book released that uses TGE, but i don't know if that would be helpful for me or not. Thanks for your assistance!

Yea 3D All in One I used to go to the bookstore every now and then to reference things I had trouble finding online - but I never bought it because it dealt too much with 3D in addition to script. The Ultimate Guide tho sounds like a definite pruchase to me, hope I can check it out at GDC

Yea, the ultimate guide does sound pretty damn sweet. are there any good general game design books that deal more with algorithms and such?

You can also find the old version of the Ultimate Guide online. His new book, however, is oriented to TGE 1.4.1, which is close to TGB Beta 1.1's version.

If you're looking at algorithm books, I still point to the realm of computer science. The Graphics Gems and Game Programming Gems books are good, though they often prey upon other references like Foley and Van Dam or Michael Abrash. You can also find the old version of the Ultimate Guide online. His new book, however, is oriented to TGE 1.4.1, which is close to TGB Beta 1.1's version.

Although I REALLY couldn't afford to... I just placed my order for "The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque: Under the Hood of the Torque Game Engine". I know it only covers TGE and most of it won't apply, but I'm hoping it will help me better learn Torquescript, the GUI system, and other areas of the underlying engine. At the very least it will provide some examples to toy with and a handy reference. Plus I may want to use TGE+TSE one day. So maybe now I won't be such a clueless newb when I reach that point :) It's good to break away from the computer once in awhile and read a good book about computers, right?

It would serve perfect as a reference to a ton of core Torque systems, especially on the scripting side.

Any word on when either or both of these will be available?

I just checked on Amazon, and it says that "Game Programmer's Guide to Torque:Under the Hood of the Torque Game Engine" isn't available yet. It also lists "Maximum Torque: The Ultimate Guide to Game Scripting", which also available yet. Any word on when either or both of these will be available?
