Anyone taking on the RW logo yet?
by Tyler Frans · in General Discussion · 03/19/2002 (3:50 pm) · 16 replies
I saw it's slated for milestone one. I have a few concepts for it sketched out and am about to finish up the first one in Photoshop now. Was wondering if anyone else is taking this on? If so, I figured we could all pool our ideas in here for inspiration. I'll post the others later (slim on time at this minute). Thanks. :)

Sorry, it's taken me awhile to get back to this. I had finished designing the font about a week ago (been swamped). It's my first run on it. I was thinking of setting it against a stone wall capped with wood pikes (all battle scarred). I'll see where I go from here with it. Here's a snap of the font. (Thanks in advance for any feedback :) )

Its a fantasy game, that font is more post-apoc script. Maybe it should be wood, or stone, instead of a rather modern looking metal.
Just a thought

Maybe RW is going to be more after a Runic sort of style though.
Anyway, i quite like that :)) but I dont think it'd be as catchy against anything but black, which might let it down some.

i like the style, bit hard to read though.

Maybe something a bit more direct and readable at a glance?
Oh, and I think any good logo requires something more than just the title of a game... well, that's just me.

I think a logo for Realm Wars needs to hit hard and be "sharp" in design. That's a nice design, but the excessive spikes and swirls diffuse it too much.Maybe something a bit more direct and readable at a glance?

Thanks for the feedback. I was playing with the theme Shawn Sharp established in the concept work, that being a pseudo-industrial spin ontop of the fantasy feel. As I said before, that's just the font I had done for it (not the logo, Matt). I'll play around with some Futhark-esque fonts, finish up the logo for this one and other ideas I had. Thanks. :)

Anyone else have ideas for those working on logo submissions?
03/26/2002 (11:41 am)
I finished up my idea for the actual logo last night. I won't have time to finish it up the way I'd like to, but figured I'd post it if someone else wants to run with the idea. Please, be my guest.

I like a lot the yingyanguis logo too :)
to maybe it would look better if you did the round thing like a shield like texture... made from rusted metal with some spikes on the borders.. etc

For anyone that didnt figure out the link to Will's concept.
I kinda like the round logo also, maybe make it more like a tarnished gold coin that kinda gives a feeling of the spoils of war.
