cvs and @ symbol in usernames

by Daniel Brown · in Torque Game Engine · 03/18/2002 (7:26 am) · 3 replies

Someone else in my company setup our user account for the torque engine. They used a @ symbol in the username, as they use their email address as the username. And I can't seem to log into CVS, I have winCVS1.2 installed and configured as per tutorial but I can't login. I am wondering if the @ in the username could be causing problems?

Cheers,

Daniel

I'm not a CVS guru, but yes. The format is:

    username@cvshostname:/directory

so if he's using an email address, it's thinking that the email domain (i.e. hotmail.com) is where the server is hosted, which it is not, obviously. There may be a way around it, but I wouldn't know.

:'( I thought that might be the case. I wonder how hard it is to get my username changed...

The @ sign will cause problems. Please have that person e-mail me and I will change their username.
