I was reading an article on the Gmax program and it said that you can't covert the file into 3dmax I am just wondering if anyone has come out with a converter?

You can save it out of G-Max as a .md3 and be able to import that into 3dsMax. Unfortunately you won't be able to save off animations on this way....just the mesh.

You have solved my problem of Creating models and not having everyone on our team needing 3d studio max!

The latest vers. of gmax only saves in .gmax format, as far as I can tell. Or is there a super-secret way of doing it? ;-)

You can use the available game exporters to export into a game format, then import from that format into 3ds Max. However, that is probably a violation of the license agreement.

Of course, I don't speak legalese. ;-)
3DSMax is still by far the better program. GMAX is just a lot nicer than what is out there for games.

I'll have to re-read it agreement, again, but I had not seen anything stated that it would be a violation.Of course, I don't speak legalese. ;-)

But, last time I checked their legal department was a lot bigger than mine, so I'm not pushing things.

Well, Discreet's been claming that writing your own exports in maxscript isn't allowed, either. It is technically possible, and it's also not disallowed by my reading of their license agreement. But, last time I checked their legal department was a lot bigger than mine, so I'm not pushing things.
