So I have been going over the VTMs on UnrealEd that come with Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice, I am depressed to say the least. The workflow is so nice compared to Torque. Well, beggers can't be choosey considering the price difference. :(

I haven't seen any of the VTMs or even messed with UT2004. UnrealEd had always seem intuitive to me and is a very nice toolset for their engine. I really don't see the workflow that much different with all of the added features in Unreal. People now build static shapes in MayaPLE and then import them into UnrealEd and add them to their levels. Sounds like the same thing that people are doing with TGE. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see some improvement in the Torque tool department, but the workflow really isn't that bad at all. I believe someone just posted a one-key rotation-axis select or something for the mission creator in TGE. See, if you have any problems with any of the workflow issues, just announce it and someone may come up with a fix. No use just whining about it.
