by Coldstone · in Artist Corner · 02/22/2006 (5:21 pm) · 8 replies

I am just starting out with 3DS max and have created a model, when I try to export it to .DTS I get an error stating "No bounding box found" can anyone enlighten me on how to create a bounding box please. I am using 3DS max 8 with the DTS exporter. Thank You.

Read the documentation, it has everything you need to know about the bounding box and a number of other things you most likely will run into...

I found SMDLabs tutorial also helps me a lot before i can export my own character, you might want to check it out :D, they have video tutorial explaining step by step process to export your own DTS (especially character)

To make it real simple, all you have to do is create a box around your object and change it's name under its properties to "bounds". That's all there is to it. :)

This is the hierarchy of how collisions and bounds need to be linked. If you still have questions, post them and we'll try to walk you through step by step.

I still remember my first try about 8 years ago. It was a nightmare. But now it seems second nature to me, and I can't believe I had so much trouble with it.

Don't worry. We'll get it working for you :)

Thanks all for the assistance. Can someone volunteer to be my coach from novice to pro? I would be willing to pay. I also have a simple project that I am working on and need an artist to help me with the environment.
