TwotyFruity - InitializeFruit Function

This may be a stupid question but, for the life of me I can't figure out why in the world InitializeFruit() is being passed $numFruitTypes on page 67. Am I an idiot or is the code bad? I don't think it will make any difference on how the code will run but what is the point?

It's probably just a glitch that passed the revision.
