Hex Isometric tiles, how hard are they for artists?

I am interested in hex tiles (layered for 3d effect).. but have some concerns over art complexities.

In general, how much harder would it be for artists to create hex tiles?

Obviously, for each tile instead of an image from 4 perspectives you will need 6 perspectives, so that's at least increasing the work by 50%.

For a 3d representation, would it be harder (using hex) to, for instance, create a house?

I don't think it would be that hard if the person were a 3d modeler, or knew how to make a plane in a 3d program

@Ben: cool, yeah i was thinking from a 2d artists perspective. i think your right that the way to go for teraign would be to hire a 3d modeler to generate the tiles.
