How to use bump, normal and detail map in Blender DTS Exporter?

by Rodrigo · in Artist Corner · 01/29/2006 (7:14 am) · 7 replies

Hi everyone, I have some doubts with Blender DTS exporter:

1- I try to export objects with bump or normal maps but the object just appears with the basic texture.
2 - I dont know where to put my textures to test objects in Torque demo.
3 - How to export detail maps in blender?

Anyone knows a tutorial or could help me whit this?

Thanks for the attention ;)

You talking about exporting Blender to TSE?

TSE handles bumb and normals with materials. Read the article on materials in TSE's TDN.

Just export your model as normal and apply materials to it to add the effects.

I try to export a cube with one texture and one detail map, I put it into demo, but when i get a distance to the cube it come into black!

There is another tip to export detail maps? Something like "name of texture + number" or configure the detail emptie?

Someone have an exemple(.blend)?

Hi, everyone!
I'm post again because I'm very confused about detail maps, and I'm not found some detail documentation about it.

here is my doubts:
1 - detail maps must be in grayscale texture?
2 - I need add another emptie to export detail maps in blender? How to configure?
3 - The name of the texture to export must be followed by a number?

Thanks again for the attention ;)
