Wow a lot has changed and I'm totally lost here

Ok I have been away from using torque for some time now. I come back to see that a lot of progress has been made.

Ok but this site is nuts. these searches are all messed up.

What happned to the easy getting started page on how to setup CVS?
I have looked and I can't find how to setup the CVS and get it working to save my life.

90% of the time when I run a search it tells me I cant view the results when I click on them it instaed sends me to a page that says to view this I need to Get the TGE....... What? I was one of the first people to get a indie license.

Anyway after loggin in and out a few dozen times finally I was able to clink on a link or two. n "none of which were any help at all.

Anyway I'm looking for information on setting up download through WINCVS.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

another Question I got the base little zipped up DL of the 1.4 SDK. Well I noticed that the re are no project for the Current MSVC I'm refering to VC++8

I'm using Visual Studio 8 and I was wondering what changes I need to make to make compile in VC8

Thanks in advance and please forgive my ignorance,

James Brad Barnette

Indeed about the CVS search I came upon the same problem

if you type cvs in the search the First link that comes up is this one:
tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/TGE/Getting_Started/CVS

Now at first it will say you need to login, note the address tdn.garagegames.com

this is the Torque Developer Network and its a wicki

there is a login button on the top right, this button has had some site related issues to the use of it
but it has been working for me for a while now.. so hopefully you have no trouble.

if all is well after you press the login button on the top right you should have the page load for you
and here is some simple tips to get your cvs up and running.

Hope that helps.

I found the setup for TSE here.
Getting TGE is the same, just change /cvs/tse to cvs/Torque and it should work OK.

It's possible that there is an issue with your login account, I'll certainly have Rick take a look at it first chance I can! From what little I can see (I don't have full access, just enough to check certain things) your profile looks ok.

You may want to try using your Edit Subscriptions link and make sure that you are subscribed to the private forums, but there isn't much else I can think to help out until Rick can take a look.

As I asked in my email, could you post a couple of the links that you are having trouble with?

And just a quick note: CVS is no longer used as the primary means of downloading the codebase...it's been phased out and the installers are the current mechanism for getting the latest release.

If you click on the "Unread Posts" page, it will have a header that includes an "Edit My Subscriptions" link.
