Demo not Starting

I've downloaded the demo, chmod'd it +x, and run it. It gives me the splash screen and a license screen. After agreeing to the license and clicking forward, I get nothing else. The window disappears, and nothing else happens. Same if I run it again.

I'm using Suse 10, and my hardware should be ok. I'm using an NVidia card, not sure which one, though it's fairly recent (bought new in the last year), AMD 2.2 or so, and 512 MB ram. At least 80GB free.
