Browser game: are you willing to pay for play

This is just a simple query and hope you guys can give your 2 cents.

Considering the current 3D technology in browser like Java3D or Shockwave, I would like to know your thoughts about what if a 'great' game can be produced with these technologies that you'll be willing to pay(to play) for.

Although java3d is expected to have a low-resolution 3D meshes. I am not sure about shockwave 3D, though.

Thank you...

PS
I know the word 'great' is subjective. I posted did this for the sake of comparing standalone games with browser games in some level (or in business sense, if its feasible).

Personally, I don't care what the format is. If the game is "fun to play", and which that implies (well design, stable, commercially competitive, etc.), then I would have no problem paying to play.
