Can't rename detail node

I have a detail node that I "deleted" in the Scene Editor, but I realized that it was only physically deleted in the scene; it is still in the Scene Editor.
Even if I rename it to, say, _dummy, it will do so in the Scene Editor, but the missing physical node (which is gone) will retain the same name, as when I try to name another node "_detail2", it will just name it "_detail2,1".
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this could be fixed? I was thinking of exporting my model and skeleton to another scene, but I'm worried as to what hidden problems this may cause in gameSpace, so I'm hoping there's a way to fix it up more efficiently.
