New Site Update

by Ben Garney · in Torque Developer Network · 01/07/2006 (1:18 am) · 30 replies

As I've noted in my .plan, I've uploaded new site code (synching with latest MediaWiki 1.5.5). I'm going to be merging in some new features in the coming weeks, hopefully including voting, as well as bringing Elixir online (finally! ;).

Please report any problems you run into. Login issues are further resolved but there still seem to be some problems people are encountering, so any data you can give to help me identify the problem would be much appreciated! Also, please give all of the site features a try, if you can, to make sure nothing broke as part of the update.

Thanks,
Ben

T - those are all GG site bugs, not TDN site bugs. You will need to report them in the GG Site bug forum area if you want the web guys to spot them. :)

Kyle - What browser are you using? What urls are showing up in the top address bar?

My browser is Internet Explorer 6.0
When I do a search on something a tdn site will show up and if I click it, it waits along time and then I get the page that says cannot be displayed and it is named Cannot find server .

For example:
I typed in tdn on a garage games website search
then I clicked on the result:

TDN Home - TDN

then this shows this up in the top address bar:

http://tdn.garagegames.com/

and I get the error page

Thank you for your help.

What happens if you go to your command prompt and type "ping tdn.garagegames.com"?

Can you do a tracert tdn.garagegames.com?

It looks like there may be a hiccup in someone's ISP. Once you get me that information I can check in with our webmaster to make sure it's not on our end.

I am not sure if this worked...

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner>tracert tdn.garagegames.com

Tracing route to tdn.garagegames.com [69.64.36.246]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 Destination host unreachable.

Trace complete.

Thanks again for your help.

Something is deeply wrong with your internet connection! Try using someone else's connection and see if the problem goes away.

Yeah must be my computer, I logged on to another computer in my house and it worked. (duh I should of tried that before) I figured out it was just my firewall ... I use McAfee. So, if some one else runs into this it is probably something to do with your firewall. Thank you again for your time.
