To All Utah Area Indie's,

Our next Utah Indie Night will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 7 pm at the Ninja Bee offices in Pleasant Grove. (Again a big thanks to Ninja Bee for hosting this event at their site). Email me if you need directions to get there.

Format will be like last time, an informal get together to chat, eat pizza, talk about the industry, see what others are doing, show off your current project, etc. Also, If you can, please bring some cash to chip in for the pizza and munchies.

Feel free to invite anyone else that you know that has some interest in Indie Games as well.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Hope to see everyone there!

I will be there, as usual, Greg!

Oh, man... I'd go, but I'm not going to be there until Saturday (Slamdance Competition)

Anyway, have fun! :)

@Daniel: Welcome to Salt Lake, good to have you here. Pleasant Grove is roughly between American Fork and Orem, which means that it's just north of Provo. From Salt Lake, if you take the highway, it should take you about 30 minutes, I would guess.

Rubes, thanks for the information. I'm really digging this town. I'm actually in Sandy, so I'm not very far away. For some reason my eyes skipped over the actual location 'Ninja Bee offices'.

I'm surprised at how easy it was to incorporate here. Not only that it seems everyone is a bit more tech savvy here than other places I've lived. It's going to be an exciting doing business here.

Doing a little bit of a bump on this as the night in question is fast approaching.

Here's how it went. (Thanks for your interest Ben ;) )

We had a great evening last night with 14 people showing up. There were a bunch of new faces there this time as well. Our group is growing and I think it will ultimately benefit everyone. The roads were getting a little slushy when most of us left, so I hope everyone made it home safely. Unfortunately there were some that couldn't make it this time due to scheduling conflicts, weather, car-probs, etc., and I want to let them know that they were missed.

We had pizza, munchies, five game demos that were shown (with some good feedback given), and of course lots of talk about the industry and other indie game topics. I found the evening to be worthwhile on lots of different levels. I'm sure most everyone there felt the same also.

We are doing this quarterly, so next one will be in April. If you know of anyone else that would like to be added to our notification list, please drop me an email. Thanks.

Hope to see everyone at the next one!

Greg Squire

P.S. The 2006 Slamdance Guerilla Gamemaker Competition is happening this weekend in ParkCity (and SLC), in case anyone is interested in that. The competition is part of the Slamdance film festival (a competitor/alternative to the Sundance Film Festival going on at the same time). I believe there are some people from the GG community (like Andy Schatz) that are involved with that.
