Documentation problems

by Johannes Pauw · in Torque Game Builder · 01/04/2006 (6:37 pm) · 5 replies

I only own T2D, not TGE, and I'm continually running into various little problems. I end up searching through the reference material and the online resources, but often the resources I need are TGE only. I'm wondering whether (at least just until the T2D documentation is complete) T2D owners could have access to the TGE documentation.

Many thanks for your time, either way, and for this incredibly powerful tool.

Assuming you've not already seen it, TDN (Torque Developer Network) will solve this problem. Use you GG username/password to access the site.

It is still early days and there are plenty of TDN system updates to come as well as a continual stream of content being added daily.

There's such a huge overlap between the current engines that it's essential that we get structured help between TGE, TSE and T2D; TDN will solve this but it does take time.

Wow, too many TLA (three-letter acronyms)!!

Hope this helps,

- Melv.

I've been wondering, will there be a shared area for overlapping information? The talk I've heard regarding TDN is that there will be, that this is the answer to the lack of overlapping torque script information. But if not, it seems the same problem exists there as exists now in the forums; Lots of basic things talked about all over the place in TGE forums, but completely missing in T2D forums. If there is a shared area on TDN, I've been unable to find it. Someone once pasted a link to me to a file writing/reading entry on TDN that was based on TGE, and unfound on the T2D page. I had access to read it, so I'm thinking there is a general area that I just can't find. Maybe I'm unobservant? If I am, it's possible others are as well.

Well, if TDN will solve this, then I'll be patient. Thanks for your time and consideration.

@Dave: TDN articles actually have (well, to be exact, will have) permissions set up such that core information that applies to more than one of the products can be accessed by all the the appropriate product owners.

Melv and Stephen are exactly right. :) TDN is set-up to solve exactly this problem. And, in fact, on the T2D TDN homepage right now, you can see a link to the core TorquesScript docs.
