North Carolina Torquers

I'm looking for local collaboration on a Torque project. Are there any developers in the Charlotte, NC or surrounding area looking to team up?

I'm a concept and character artist/modeler in Matthews with a fair amount of scripting experience, although I've only just started with Torque. I'm definitely looking for coders, but ultimately I'm open to talking with any local indie developers looking to work on a serious project.

I am currently teaching myself C++ and while inexperieced, I am interested in pursuing any type of torque project. If a beginner coder could meet your needs then drop me a line. leviathandigitalATyahooDOTcom.

Well, damn. Wouldn't have believed so many developers in NC. Asheville is a great city. Worked there for a long time before I moved my family down into the flatlands.

Since Charlotte and Matthews seem to be close to geographic center to everyone would you guys consider hosting a meet and greet? Everyone who comes can agree to pitch in a donation to help with costs incurred by the host, plus BYB.

I'm glad to see all these responses. Marc Juliano has started a new meetup.com group for Charlotte PC Game Development. As far as I've found, it's the only NC game dev meet up, so I'm supporting it 100%.

I may have to look you all up in Charlotte. I've just started to evaluate Torque to use to produce a demo for our companies funding journey. Once we're up and running, we'll be looking to form a team of developers here in Asheville. Anyone interested in joining our demo team should drop me a line at mythannor@schwarzengel.com.

Announcing a new event for Charlotte PC Game Development Group!

What: February Presentation Meetup

When: Tuesday, February 21, 7:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: The next CGD meetup is official.

This meetup has something special planned for the group. This time around, each attendee should bring or prepare a roughly 5 minute presentation. Don't panic, this doesn't need to be a formal speech. What this does need to be is a show-and-tell of a previous, current, or upcoming project (or a compilation of projects) that you have been, are, or will be involved in. This can be stills, playable demo(s), slides (Powerpoint), or whatever you think will best demonstrate your current or aspiring skills and capabilities, or that of your group if you're representing a team/company.

This will be a great opportunity to see what everyone has to offer, and great experience in showing off your abilities. This will also be informative and should make for some interesting conversation topics. Look at it as a presented portfolio.

Bottom line, have fun with it!

The CGD, based around Fort Mill, SC and Charlotte, NC, is still steadily growing in membership and experience! We're always interested in meeting serious developers in the local area.
