Milkshape vs Blender

Which is better for use with Torque?
Learning curve and ease of use don't matter.
I just need to know which is more powerful and better for exporting to Torque.

Yeah the more I think about it, Blender is the only choise really. Have alook at the gallery on their site, some truly amazing stuff can be done if time is spent on learning how to use it.

Learning curve? you mean just getting to know th UI. It offers most options that the other guys do.

And... Its cheep.

Milk shape is easer to get the basics on, but its a limited program, thats why its not that hard to lean. lol.And... Its cheep.

But thats usually if you first try to learn some other app and then try to move over to blender.
It is much negated though if you are using Blender as your first modeling app, since the way blender does things, is very unique to blender.

No there really is quite a steep learning curve. But thats usually if you first try to learn some other app and then try to move over to blender.

Milkshape isn't as inexpensive as blender :) I have "The Official Blender 2.3 Guide" which is awesome.

(yeah i forgot blender was free lol)
But, from the tone of the OP, they have never used a modling program before,That is why i sugested milkshape before blender. While Blender is chock-full of nice things, for a first time user, its very convaluted, and the interface is (and allways has been) very unintuitive.

Milkshape acts more like AAA (lightwave, 3DS, ETC..) modling programs... Blender..is, just odd.(yeah i forgot blender was free lol)

Heh... maybe circa 1993! And I'm personally an avid MS3D user - love the simplicity, but when you see the features of top tier modelling apps, you quickly realize that MS3D doesn't measure up.
Now, Milkshape2 on the other hand... well, let's just say I'm eagerly anticipating it's release. =)

My 2 cents,

Blender is not so unintuitive as some people says. It is diferent from the other 3D suites, but very quick to use once you get it. And it offers a wide range of usefull and well implemented tools and features. Don't be afraid and try it with some patience, it is worth every hour of practice you put on learning it, IMHO.My 2 cents,

Blender has yes, a "unique" interface to say the least, but once you're used to it you'll realize how much thought they put into its design regarding workflow efficiency. You can do some pretty advanced work in Blender, as it has most of the tools you'd see in a professional 3D software package. If you're anything like me, you're going to hate the Blender DTS exporter at first.
Milkshape is great for making shapes in too (but I prefer Blender for animation), but it is too simple as a mesh editor, and the UV editor is terrible compared to Blender's IMO. If you find Milkshape too simple, at the very least, its still worth buying as a file format converter, because I've never seen a 3d program with so much importers/exporters "out of the box".
One thing that I'd like to see is a Blender exporter that will export a format that ms3d can import with animation data preserved (most formats are mesh only).

Milkshape 3D is nice and simple, Blender is rich in features. I think you should use both as many others do (including me). Yes .

I found milkshape to be easyer to get started with
but blender offers way more in terms of features. And much better results can be gained. And it renders quite nicely.
If it was I choise between them, I would say blender but be prepared to put alot of time into it. It would be worthit.
