Higher Resolution

by Holger · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 12/03/2005 (7:47 am) · 9 replies

Just wanted to use the starter.fps for our game and modify it.

But found that the options will only let me select resolution up to 800x600

How can I get higher resolution? My X800 will let me use much higher resolutions.

But they can't selected in the options.

Thanks for help

What's your desktop resolution set at?

If you are in windowed mode then you wont be able to increase torques resolution over 1 step below your desktop size.

My desktop resolution is set to 1024x768.
Working in windows mode

Oh yes, now I see that fullscreen let me select heigher resolution.

But... selecting higher resolution (1024x768) would destroy (garble) the gamesscreen.

Working with the latest ATI-driver....

Ok, found the solution:

First had to select "fullscreen" - then "apply"

Then change the resolution to a higher value and apply.

(switching between desktop and the game with ALT/TAB would kill the game - but not so important)

Thanks all for help

EDIT: After pressing ALT/TAB it's killing the torqueDemo . Torquedemo will be removed from the applicationwindow in the taskmanager but will remain as a process.

Trying to start the game again will result in the message "Torquedemo is already running"
- Have to kill torquedemo as a process - not so nice for not (windows) experienced gameplayers.

that's strange... I have also ATI video card with latest drivers.. and it works fine with Alt-TABbing for me... do I use TGE1.3/1.4 or even TSE... no problems at all..
Try to see OmegaDrivers ... may be this can help you.. They just yesterday released new version based on C5.11 ... looks line for me

Read somewhere the alt-tab bug is a bug in 1.4. (I use 1.3 though)

Can live with the bug - it will take long time to get the games released ....

Bank, thanks - will first try the OMEGADrivers

I think there is a bug. On my build you can't even select GL or DX and or the resolution.
