Mac for porting

I am debating purchasing a Mac for the purpose of porting a T2D game (and subsequent TGE games)
My first stop when trying to find the cheapest price possible was E-bay.
Will this compile an average T2D / TGE game and run it?
I know nothing of Macs. Is there another place to get super cheap Macs?

I find my Beige Mac, upgraded with a G4 400mhz and 768mb ram is really slow for OSX, so I'm going to get a Mac Mini, min 1gb ram.
If anyone wants, I have an Apple 21" multimedia display to go with the Beige Mac, I'm willing to give it all away if you can collect from Newcastle.

Spend the $400 on the Mac Mini and you'll be set. Mine even came with a free game written in TGE (i.e. Marble Blast) and it plays just fine on there. The mini comes with no mouse or keyboard -- plug in your existing USB ones. If you use a KVM to share mouse/keyboard/monitor, make sure it's a USB one, or spend $15 on a USB to PS2 converter.

Is this a joke? CherryOS has been revealed as a ripoff of the PearPC project. You probably don't want to compile under, and definitely don't want to run TGE under, an emulator like that. Plus, if you want the mac to test your game once you've compiled it, you don't want a G3, nor do you want a Beige G3 upgraded to a G4. Although it's a fine computer for other uses. (If folks are hauling away old Macs, someone please come by here and get that Quadra out of my basement.)Spend the $400 on the Mac Mini and you'll be set.
