Well, I havent even thought of a story for this, but what would you guys think of a stickfigure fps, in 3D?
(Oh, and I know this is kinda copying BasicBob, but I was thinking more Half-Life ish(without the Epic story)

Not an FPS, but stick figures none the less.

Pfft, now I have to redo my programmer art. It looks almost exactly like that.

Why do you want to copy Basic Bob?

Basic Bob is cool.

The graphics are refreshing and fun.

Plus, Basic Bob, even though simple is a strong character. You see a silouette of Basic Bob and you know exactly who he is. Instantly recognisable as opposed to some of the generic ANOther cute cartoony or animeesque types.
I would be dissappointed if we didn't see more Basic Bob games in the future.. actually, Basic bob should be ported to XBox and PS2.

When everyone else is going all out for hyper realistic graphics, along comes a game like Basic Bob which doesn't take itself too seriously which is more about having a laugh than anything else.

Basic Bob for President.

I should note..... I'm not paying Jason.

His opinions are his own ;)

Thanks man. Can I put that on my reviews page?

Sorry the thread got hijacked Ben. If you have a design doc, send it to me and maybe I can help you out with your game.

I think it would be rather difficult to shoot a moving stick figure using a rifle. Rockets, not too bad. Flack cannon, no problem. But a rifle, forget it.

Collision could be set up to hit stick figures as if they had a normal mesh.... or you could just not have rifles.

Headshots could be interesting though, stick men tend to have big heads.

It's being done. I started working on just that a while back. Dropped the project, idea has been picked up by another firm.

You mean something like this? It's not a FPS, though, but a side-scroller:

Note this is a work in progress, all provisional ;)

I had a similar Idea. When I was studying computer animation at university in the late 90's. One of my friends from the previous year made a short film called Sticky business which I always thought could make a good starting point for a FPS game.

Not bad for something done in 3d studio 4 (DOS) I'm so glad 3D moved on since then. But the stickman is still cool :)

Ek only about half of it there, oh well.

Not like Basic Bob, As I understand it, Basic Bob is a Third Person game, and it seems a bit more cartonish than I meant this one to be.
@Adrian: Kinda like the video(Lol) but with Life-Size Stickfigures.

@Chris:I didnt make any design documents so it doesnt matter
