Torque Units and Real Life Units

I am using bmp2map to convert a scaled building floorplan to a MAP file that I am using Quark to edit. What does a unit in Torque correspond to in real life (i.e. inches, feet, meters, etc.?). I suspect that answer is more complicated than this, I am new to game development, and kind of get the idea of the "geometry scale" but I don't know how to relate all this to real world measurements.

I really appreciate any insight that anyone has on this.

Peter
