Night Lighting

I have a little problem, well two, the first one is how do I get the night effect to be darker? I am using the lighting pack/tge demos for now untill I get license, so one of the missions already have night time effect, but its not dark enough, you can still see well in rooms with no lights. I want it to be pitch black so lights will create a mood. heres a snapshot of what I see. The top is a room lightless, and the bottom has light in it.

Where do I go to change the sky lighting effects? (night)
Another quick questions, if I see lighting come from between building walls does that mean the arent completely touching? so i would need to fix that in the level editor?
Another is once in a while i keep seeing the sides of my imported interior have purple lines along the edges? how do i fix this!?
umm...one more question, how do I make new lights? I keep using the blue and red light and changin the properties?
Thanks! :D

U should be able to create a pitch black room with quark.. if light is leaking through, i'd just play around with the walls until it doesn't. what kind of stuff are u doing with lights? i'm interested in creating spaces with only lights and particles.. it really intrigues me.

I plan on making the lights create the mood, and help the player along in the game, for example dark room, but light hanging over table, that would suggest you would need to go to the table, and perhaps pick something like gun. if the whole room was visible or almost then the mood and drama wouldnt be as strong, or the player might not go to the table with the same feeling as they would with the spooky darkiness and all.
I know my game isnt going to be the best, thats why I need to do the extre visual effects to make it more apealing. Also 3rd person so I dont have to model my weapons high detail, just basic shapes low detail, and strong texturing.

Dylan I am right now researching the very same issue -how to make the dark areas seem dark areas appear truely black. Did you figure it out? If you did can you tell me what you did?

It sounds like your maps are not portaled correctly, if they were the room would be pitch black except for where you had lights placed (unless the ambient light value was set). Check your portals and make sure they are zoneing
