Scaling problems

by Stephen · in General Discussion · 11/19/2005 (12:54 pm) · 2 replies

I made my first proto character...threw him in the tutorial(exportrd with dts plus...milkshape) and my character looks like a giant next to the lightmale...does it alter the lightmales value when my player is set as the playable or is my guy just really big and i dont realize it?

I personally use Blender. And when using Blender, before exporting the dts file, this is when I do my scaling. I make the same mistake many times and must adjust. Hopefully the answer is this simple. :- )
Here's a beautiful page that has a lot of detail about Blender--
www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=4662

Blender is free by the way www.blender3d.org/cms/Home.2.0.html

Something different to pass on that took me quite a while to figure, place a node (armature) in the head area and call it "eye" so that you will get a real person's view, and not from the default ground.

Good luck to your project

Minor mod note: this question is more properly asked in one of the art forums on our site, such as:

Torque Art Public Area >> General Discussion or the appropriate forum area for the modelling application you are using. The Torque Art Public Area lists all of the commonly used modeller applications.
