Needed player nodes created w/ Milkshape?

I was just wondering if there was a way to do the basic dummy nodes for the player like 'eye' and 'mount' and such with Milkshape. Would it be with basic geometry like boxes, or bones or is it done with materials (similar to sequences). I've got the model up and running w/ animations but I have the typical weapon mounting around the feet and I have yet to find how to change this with MS (I have the Max methods fully memorized).

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

From my (limited) milkshape modeling expirence, they are joints, with the name eye and mountx and whatever
