Portal issue

I am attempting to put a portal on the entrance to my building that I created in Quark. In Quark first I create a portal entity then I create a cube brush and place it under the portal entity and then place both things under a group. I then size the brush so that it is a bit bigger than the doorway geometry I am sealing. When I try to export the file as a dif it crashes. One diffrence I noticed between my "portal" and the ones in the default example that comes with the Torque version of Quark (and the desmond Fletcher notes) is that those portals are purple but mine has the default texture on it. Can someone tell me what step I am missing?

I bet you are using the new QuArK build. Same thing happens to me.

To get around it, you must ensure the object is reselected each and every time you grab a side and move it. In other words, you should not have a face selected when you move it. Do not ever change its container, or copy and paste it.

I have no idea why this happens, but it breaks map2dif_plus unless I do the vodoo every time.

Try just placing a cube in a portal, dont touch it, evrything exports just fine. Resize it a few times, you will notice you get a face selected, and map2dif borks.

Its something QuArK is doing, I'll be comparing maps some time later and posting a bug on their site.

Strange, just went to reproduce the problem, and it wont!

I cant remember how many times I restarted yesterday because of this. no doubt it will happen later.
