Vehicle model crashes TGE

I am having problems with one of my models. It is a helicopter with an animated rotor (spin up, constant spin, spin down) mounted to the base of the helo. Both pieces have separate bounding box with one collision volume that surrounds the entirety of the vehicle.
Loading the vehicle in showtools works fine, but in the game engine (both my modified version and the standard TGE) it crashes immediately with the following error:
I suspect it has to do with the rotorblades mounted to the helo in the dts file. Should the blades be kept in a separate dts and mounted through script or are there any other flaws in my design above? If so, are there any resources/tutorials that can help show me (and my modeler) what to do?

I took a look at that thread, but do not want to pursue texture animated blades just yet. I'm going to take a look a version of the model sans blades and see if that doesn't crash. I think I'll have to do this the same way helmets and backpacks are put on players.
