TDN Tetris clone starter

by Darren Stuart · in Torque Game Builder · 10/15/2005 (5:02 pm) · 15 replies

Quick question about the puzzle starter tetris clone.

has it been written yet and just not uploaded?

It would really help my current project for reference.

Mat can you answer this?

Hey, sorry for the delay, sorry to say that I don't have one already done for this =/ Been extremely busy with college finals (finished last week) so I hadn't gotten as much as I wanted done... the Strategy is the closest one to being finished by me, though if there are any specific requests you can post and either someone else can do it or I can try and get one done sooner rather than later :)

Just as an fyi, we (GG) are going to be removing many of Matt's "real world distractions" in the near future (two-ish weeks!) by having him join us up here in Eugene as an intern!

Matt will be working extremely closely with both Josh Williams and I, and his entire task list is filled with T2D items--many of which are going to be direct entries in the T2D portion of TDN.

Both Josh and I are very much looking forward to having Matt under our hammers (err, next to us daily), and I know that he is excited as well--what's even better is that the various starter areas are going to be fleshed out with a lot of detail, as well as all of the "general Torque documentation" that has been such a struggle for T2D (only) owners.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I wanted everyone to know it's just a little longer!

Well let me be the first to say (at least here), congratulations Matthew. I'm sure you'll do a great job with TDN.

I'm really looking forward to heading up to intern at GG and losing all the distractions to get a whole lot of stuff done :)

@Hans: Thanks

Yes, but are you looking forward to being chained to your desk and fed doritos and high-test coffee for the next several months? :)

Just kidding (as far as you know anyway!).

Thanks for the update. No rush, I am still doing the gfx for my project. The bit I was interested in was dealing with lines in a contianer.

Well done on your new job as the office Gimp... oh I mean intern :p

have fun.

I envy every signle one of those GG interns! it is a PITA (Pain In The A$$) trying to work on remote projects with GG, especialy when it comes to communications and other required interactions. I wished I had the means and ability to uproot family and make the west coast jog!!

Stay away from Doritos! (MSG) .. any lay's product is bad news. But it's good news that your going to intern.

Hmm I was wondering the same thing... Im getting these errors:
t2dTileLayer::setStaticTile() - Invalid Tile Position! (7, -2)
t2dTileLayer::setStaticTile() - Invalid Tile Position! (7, -1)
t2dTileLayer::setStaticTile() - t2dImageMapDatablock Datablock is invalid! (blocksImageMap)
t2dTileLayer::setStaticTile() - t2dImageMapDatablock Datablock is invalid! (blocksImageMap)

edit - never mind I figured it out... I had named the datablock tetrisblocksimagemap...
