TDN, Forums, and You

As many have heard, TDN is now in semi-closed beta (you have to own a Torque licensed product, such as one of the engines), and it's time to slowly nag people over to the new documentation area!
One thing I would like to make extremely clear: Currently, we have a skeleton--and it's not a skeleton of an elephant, it's roughly a mouse and a half! What that means however is that we need the community---you---to start using it, and to most importantly start fleshing it out so that it becomes more and more useful.
Many of us are extremely used to looking here on the forums, posting our questions, etc. What we now want you to become used to is to looking over at TDN when you have a question, and looking there first. Of course, since we are barely beginning in content in comparison to the information here in the forums, you probably won't find what you are looking for--but that's OK! You, and the community as a whole, will have a couple of benefits by getting into this habit:
1) You will get used to looking at TDN as a habit, and since over time the documentation will be moving there, it will be second nature to you by the time TDN reaches efficient research functionality.
2) If you don't find what you are looking for there, but you do here, hopefully you will take just a few minutes, go back to TDN, and at a minimum create a wikiword or mini-article that describes what you found here (even if you just link back to it for now, that's ok, although we hope that you will take a few minutes and post the actual solution there as well).
3) You may just start looking at similar topics (or even unrelated ones!) and learn a thing or two you didn't even know you didn't know.
4) Finally, you may just get motivated to post something completely unrelated to what your original question was, because just about everyone has something that they've learned, and can pass back to the rest of the community.
Wiki's survive, grow, and become incredibly useful when they are used--and since it's so new to all of us, it can be difficult to get used to using ours, so please spend just a little time every chance you get and add to it slowly but surely. Before we know it, TDN will be an incredibly powerful and benefical community resource if we each take just a little bit of time to make it grow.
Thanks!

People getting the "Only Torque Game Engine owners can access this content." when loggged in just need to logout and login again.

Use your GarageGames login id and password. The same as you use for the forums here.

Wheres the link to it from the GG site?

Chris, there is no direct link yet as the TDN is, as stated, in Beta.

Stephen... I also am having the login issue. IE. I can login to the GG's site, but no matter what it doesn't give me access to TDN. I believe it may have something to do with special characters in my login name... and might also explain Gustavo's problem.Chris, there is no direct link yet as the TDN is, as stated, in Beta.

I, too, have to Logout then back in[without any name or pass], then I can access the pages...FireFox browser.

The special characters one is most probably a different issue.

I was able to demonstrate the need to logout/login occasionally to Ben today during our Indie Boot Camp, so hopefully he'll have a better grasp on what is going on with it.The special characters one is most probably a different issue.

My nick was Simon "Capnlove" Lamoureux...and I logged in to TDN the day it was started...but as soon as my second attempt, no luck...I changed my name to simply Simon Love, to see if the " " were the problem. But no...Everytime I attempt to access TDN, it says I must login..click login..nothing works, page doesn't even change. Tried clearing my cookies, my cache..nothing.Help me Obi-wan, you're my only hope.

Try logging in 4-6 times until it works.

Ah so the login deal is not just me. Seems like it throws you back to GG homepage. As if the info isn't getting passed in time.

Fyi, i get the redirect about 25% of the time too, it doesnt seem to be time dependant, as i tried on another machine and it let me in fine. then i tried going to another tdn page on my main machine and then it let me login properly. maybe the wiki/ root page has some weird redirect problem? i havent tried troubleshooting this much, but yeah, for all intensive purposes, it's broken :P

On the LHS of the GG home page, there is a section for Developer Network, but instead of taking you to TDN, the links go to product home pages. And of those, only the TGE page has a link to TDN that I can find.
Better yet, how about a link to TDN on the top of the page right next to Community? Pretty please?

Perhaps one of the reasons people turn to the forums first is because they are much more direct to access than TDN. Any chance we could get a direct link to TDN on the GG home page? Maybe this is planned for when TDN is "gold," but why wait?On the LHS of the GG home page, there is a section for Developer Network, but instead of taking you to TDN, the links go to product home pages.
