Okays, im trying to make a simple jewel type thing for somthing to collect in my game... problem is that they look kinda...dull? what I wanna do is remove the smoothing, and give them alittle self lighting(so they apear brighter) any ideas on how to do this? I can do this fine in 3dsmax...but i cant seem to get it to export without it...

Theres an example of what they look like in torque.

I'm not sure how Torque deals with Raytraced models; but have you tried surrounding your model with lights in Max (or whatever you modeler is), using glass as the material shader, and exporting the image?

I'm assuming you used "faceted" in the material in max? That probably won't export. Instead use the "Auto Smooth" button in edit mesh/poly with a very low angle. (look it up in the manual if you need more info).

Thanks, that worked :D yea, i tryed pretty much everything else i could find to do with smoothing.

Ok, another question... I cant get the enviorment map to work... I have done every thing it says to do.
I have a .jpeg as the texture, and i have the reflection box checked...but its not showing up. and the slider is at 100
