www.igda.org/censorship/CA_ab1179_letter.php

I normally don't like to post counter-sarcasm here in the forums, but this one stuck out at me:

Quote:
"A claim that is not justified by any real scientific findings."

Some day you'll learn that just sayng things doesn't make them true.

And some day maybe everyone will learn that passing laws that say things DOES make them "true"...or at least enforceable.

Once it's on the books, try getting it off--it's MUCH harder, and it becomes in effect "true"...can be used in defenses, can be used in prosecution, and in the eyes of the "law", it is true, once it's passed.

It's not the facts around this bill that is so scary, but the wording, and intentional attempts to "grab power" at the state level by making the bill so vague that anything could be enforced with it. Note: that's exactly WHY it's unconstitutional--the Supreme Court over and over and over again has stated that vague laws are by their very vagueness are unconstitutional but if this law passes it will be 5+ years before they get to repeat themselves and strike it down. During that time, those behind this bill will have built a considerable power base.
