That is within the license, but I don't see why that'd really be too useful.

I think he is just trying to provide a way to show off Torque. He compiled the unedited source, and gives out the compiled .exeThat is within the license, but I don't see why that'd really be too useful.

If it's actually fair play to do that, then it means there is an easy way to see the mission editor etc. At least a minor stop gap before the real kick ass demo comes out.
And before anyone asks, i'm a happy paid up Torque SDK'er myself...

ya , there are ppl that do modeling only and have expressed intrest about it already, so they have no reason to buy torque , i just think it would be a good way to get some community models floating arround, for those of us who cant model. im basicly tring to find out if this is ok to do (from the gg staff)

I think this would be a good move to do this, i dont have the torque but i model a lot it means that modelers would be drawn into the community, and submit there models for public use, and wouldnt have to run T2 to test the dts .Plus i think it may get you more customers.@ Tim

So I would be very happy, if you provide the latest precompiled demo as often as possible.

I'm unable to compile Torque because I got the learners edition of VC6, that is unable to be updated with the Service-Packs. (I'll wait to buy me the Prof-version, until 7.0 is available here in europe). So I would be very happy, if you provide the latest precompiled demo as often as possible.

We are coming out with our official demo at CGDC. Our original intent was to make the current demo look a lot better before releasing it to the public. It is our feeling that the way the demo looks now will turn off a lot more people than it will turn on. As you have probably seen, the fantasy screen shot released with the Mac TGE press release is what we are looking for.
I don't have a problem with you getting the compiled .exe out to interested modelers, but I don't want it to seem related to the upcoming demo or to be a show off of what the TGE is capable of. How about if you call it Model Test Bed or something innocuous like that?

I for one, realize that this is a raw compiled test utility, and that it has no bearing on your upcoming demo.

Well thats good enough for me, you can call it whatever you like as long as i can test the dts models im making, so that they work properly with Torque. As you probably know Jeff at the moment i test with T2, and all though the models that some have tested here with torque have appeared to work ok, i think it will only be a matter of time before there might be some incompatability.I for one, realize that this is a raw compiled test utility, and that it has no bearing on your upcoming demo.
